If they can lock up Boychuk and then have Reinhart & Pulock make the team next year this D will be set for the future. That's not including Pelech, Pedan, Mayfield etc etc.. |

We’re going to have a lot of depth and quality extra prospects that we can package and move to upgrade where needed. This should be the last year we have to see strait and carkner, and hopefully the conacher experiment ends shortly. |

I agree. I'm curious what Snow will do at the trade deadline this year if we are sitting good in a playoff spot. Exciting times ahead if they keep it up |

To carry over one last thing (and I’ll drop it lol) from the last blog, I still describe following this team as Charlie brown trying to kick the football. We’ve all been jerked around so many times before that it’s pretty easy to take any positive play and find some negativity with it.
I’ll watch the game tonight, root for the win and try not to look too hard at any mistakes.

This team has done plenty wrong. But they have also done plenty right and I think some people lose sight of that for whatever reason. Also this team could go four and one on the trip and blow a two goal lead and lose in Arizona and people will want cappy fired. It's just how it is |

So percentage wise, what are the chances Cappy takes this team to the cup? |

if we can win against the jets tonight and then go 2-2-1 on the road trip I'll be okay with it. just hate seeing 3-5 goals against a game. It's not good for my heart.

I guess the question we have to ask is.. Would we rather be losing games 2-1 or winning them 6-5. I know it's not pretty and they have to get better defensively but points are points |

6-5. It makes the games much more fun and inflates the stats of our favorite player. the negatives are, how long can they keep up scoring 5 goals a game? Its just not possible for any team. |

Boychuk, Leddy, Hamonic, and Reinhart and Pulock even if they only reach 75% of their potential will be a very solid blueline for a long time.
And obviously you still have de Haan, |

of those, the one guy I believe will be our number one defenseman is dehaan. Every time I watch him I'm more impressed. The kid is so smooth with the puck and the mean streak he's picked up this year has really made him enjoyable to watch.

From the last thread:
The fair way to handicap that would be: If they don't win I'll buy you a (one) beer.
If they do win with Cappy: you have to buy me the $15,000 Ace of Spades champagne magnum bottle
- eichiefs9
If I win the Powerball, no problem. That said, I'm guessing it's the bottle that's worth $15,000, because champagne to me tastes like carbonated dishwater. Actually, my bet is if you win, I buy you a beer, and if I win, I'll just get the satisfaction of knowing I was correct....
At any rate, let's go out on a high note and bury this team tonight....they may have fancy new uniforms, but they're still Atlanta..... |

The first time I saw him in rookie camp, the first thought I had was that he was smart- positionally sound, like Hickey, but also big enough to hold his ground in front of the net. He disappeared for a while with that shoulder issue, but since he has been back, he has proven he belongs here. I'd say he's likely better Hamonic, and has the potential to be better than Boychuk in a lot of ways, other than being a total beast in front of the net. We have the personnel now to have a good, solid defense, and it SHOULD only get better. |
